No audio (sound) from Hauppauge WinTV FM pci card

This is in relation to the bttv (bt878) and msp3400 kernel modules in kernels with a verion number >= 2.6.17

If you have a Hauppauge WinTV FM tv capture card, you may be experiencing an issue in which you have no sound from your card.

The cause of the problem stems from the closed nature of the hardware itself, along with incomplete available documentation.

As it stands, the fix is to add the following line, without quotes, to /etc/modprobe.conf

'options msp3400 standard=32'

There is a posibility that this may only work in 2.6.18 kernel, due to another bug present in 2.6.17 kernels. However, I have verified success in the following Fedora kernels:

• kernel-2.6.17-1.2187_FC5
• kernel-2.6.18-1.2189.fc5

I haven't bothered to test in previous 2.6.17 Fedora kernels.
